What mods do you plan in the future? Tremec TKO, tubular K-member, longtubes, custom cams and a roll cage.
What was the original goal for the car? When I started to modify it in June of 2000 I set out to run 12's NA with bolt-ons only which I did in February of this year. Present Goal for Car: I'd like to keep it NA and get the car down in the 12.6-12.7's next year, then after the race season step it up with a power adder or possibly a bigger motor.

Why did you buy the car? Daily driver so I could build another car for racing...hahaha. Actually it was mainly to have fun and that is what I'm doing.
What other cars have you considered buying? 1999 Cobra, 1999-2000 WS6, Firebird, 1999 Lightning.
Car/Driver Achievements? February 9, 2001 broke into the 12's NA with bolt-ons, 2001 Modular Shootout 2V NA Champion
Best Time? 12.91 @ 101.93 mph
Dyno Numbers? 253.8 RWHP / 292.8 RWTQ
Do you have any regrets along the way? None at all, I've been taking it very slowly modifying the car at my own pace and not skipping any of the important stuff along the way.
What was or is your favorite vehicle to this day and why? This car by far is my favorite. My 1992 LX was a fun car to drive and I had a blast with it but I built the motor up and made plenty of power that I could never put down to the ground. Now I have a car that makes a little more than half the power of my 92 and is only a few tenths slower at the track. I enjoy getting every last hundredth out of the ET with very few mods.
What does Mr. Putnam do for enjoyment besides racing? I enjoy working on my reef aquarium, jet skiing, snorkeling and fishing.
What was your main reason for becoming a part of the internets first and best Mustang Club? I thought it was a great grouping of people that were more focused on enjoying their cars and having fun along the way and not afraid to share information with others that were learning.
Shout-Outs? Jared Rude, Joe Monaghen, Fourcam281, Bob Cardoza, Jeremy Martorella and my sister Danielle.
Who is your biggest rival on the track, and why? I don't really have any rivals but the closest I would say would have to be Joe Monaghen. We've posted back and forth for a while about getting the most out of a NA 2V and it's been fun trying to see who will be the fastest. We were able to run against each other at the shootout this year and that was fun, plus for every modification either one of us does it gives us incentive to out do the other. I would definitely call it a friendly rivalry.
What upcoming events in 2001 do you plan on racing in if any? For 2001 it looks like I'm done, I was able to attend 7 of the FFW & NMRA events plus the Modular Shootout. That took allot out of me traveling and such so I will be enjoying my off season and getting my car ready for 2002. For next year I plan on attending the majority of the FFW races, a few of the NMRA events, the Modular Shootout and of course any SSOTN events that I'm able to. One last question, Will you be the first to repeat as 2002 Modular Shootout 2VNA Champion? Not if Joe has anything to say about it! Actually that's a tough one, there are a handful of guys out there with some great combos that I think will be stepping it up and it's going to tough to hang with that crowd. Not that I'm going to let that stop me.
We thank you for your time, and wish you the best in whatever you decide to do in the future.
Much thanks to Bill Putnam for being the SSOTN Featured Member for November 2001.
