What modifications? MAC cold air with Pro-M 75mm MAF, BBK 65mm throttle bottle, SVO intake adapter, GT40 intake, BBK shorty headers, Bassani catalytic X-pipe, 2 chamber Flowmasters in stock exhaust, 3.55 gears, AOD-E with PI Stallion 2800 converter, Baumann Stage 3 shift kit, B&M Ratchet shifter, 190 lph fuel pump, Kirban AFPR, Saleen Racecraft Springs, Factory 5 rear lower control arms, polyurethane spring isolators, and swaybar endlinks, 2001 GT dual piston front brakes and rotors, saleen tailight covers, saleen s-281 wing, Mille Miglia 17x8 wheels.
Planned future mods Twisted Wedge Heads, TFS Stage 1 Cam, 24-30 lb Injectors, Pro-M PIH, Baumannator TCS, and a power adder of some sort way down the road
What was the original goal for the car? Wife wanted a sports car.
What is the present goal for the car? Not to fight over it, and 13's
Why did you buy the car? No longer needed a commuter car, and we paid less for it than the original owner got in trade.
What other cars have you considered buying? 87-92 Camaro or Firebird, strictly due to body style. Candice thinks the newer ones have a big ass.
Car/Driver Achievements? Car achievements - Was previous owners 10th Mustang, and frustrated him enough to get rid of it
Driver Achievements - Successfully hitting 3rd gear by the 60' due to lack of traction and the Spring Nats.
Shout outs or people that helped you achieve these goals: We have to give a big shout out to Alain (98Silverstang). He probably has heard more about our stall issue then he would care to admit. Also, out to Scott Levine at Team Ford of Marietta for being the 3rd mechanic to work on the stall issue, and the only one to diagnose it correctly. For those of you that don't know...it was the Cam Stator. And of course SSOTN for providing hours upon hours of educational info, and days upon days of hilarity.
Best Time? 14.611 at 95 (Spring Nats)
Do you have any regrets along the way? Not listening to Alain & Wayne, where we both used to work, and realizing that dumping money into a 1996 Honda Civic was a good waste of it.
What was or is your favorite vehicle to this day and why? If we are talking about cars we have owned, Candice's is definitely this Mustang, because she's always wanted a sports car. Sean's favorite would be his 1990 Mercury Cougar, truly because it was his first, even though it blew it's 3.8L at 105,000 miles. "Watch out for a project Cougar possibly in the future, but I can't think of a good name...Project SabreTooth...naaa...Project ThunderCat....maybe..." -Sean
What do you do for enjoyment besides racing? We both are basically home bodies. Racing/Mods are expensive enough for our taste. We mainly are trying to save money to move back to PA. Sean transferred to GA, to avoid being laid off...."Boy that was a mistake...so much for southern hospitality. Traffic is absolutely ridiculous. I drive 7 miles to work, it takes me 40 minutes on average." -Sean
What was your main reason was for becoming a part of the internets first > and best mustang club? As being an internet couple originally, why not continue the trend with the club. Honestly, the second part of that question is the answer...because it's the best. "Yes, I do have login id's for 2 other Mustang sites, but How many post do I have there? under 5 each."
Who is your biggest rival on the track, and why? I don't have many rivals, because, at the Spring Nats,we were the slowest V8 there. I have taken on two Grudge runs for the Fall Nats, Toy 94 GT, and rel3rd in his new Fobra. Paraphrasing rel3rd: "It won't be the fastest race of the day, but it sure will be the brightest."
What upcoming events do you plan on racing in if any? Fall Nats, maybe the B&M event down here in GA. Other than that, will all depend on where we are living.
One last question, What really made you make the switch from ricers to stangs?? 2 things. 1) Torque - One test drive in our Mustang demonstrated it well.
2) The Honda ran 17.9 stock. After Dumping $2000 in mods into the Honda, what did it run? 17.9 with a tail wind.
