Question&Answer
What modifications? Major mods: stock shortblock bored .030 over, Edelbrock 6037 heads, Cobra intake, AFM B3 blower cam, Vortech S-Trim, Level 10 AOD, blah, blah, blah...
What mods do you plan in the future? Aeromotive fuel system, 2.95 blower pulley
What was the original goal for the car? I never intended to race the car, I just wanted a convertible. But, living 20 minutes from Maple Grove Raceway, the temptation to race it became too strong. First time at the track it went 15.41 @ a whopping 88 mph. can you say "embarrassed"???
What is the present goal for car? Keep it in one piece, have fun, and run the occasional 10 second timeslip...
Why did you buy the car? I had finally gotten enough points off of my driving record to afford the insurance on a musclecar...
What other cars have you considered buying? The usual suspects: Z28, Trans-Am, Grand National...
Car/Driver Achievements? I don't know of many 10 second AOD convertibles, so I guess that's an accomplishment of some sort...
Best Time? 10.85 @ 126.13 with a 1.58 60' time...
Do you have any regrets along the way? I regret starting out with the heaviest and slowest of all the Mustangs: a fully loaded, GT convertible with an AOD. I probably would have used a lighter LX coupe as a starting point. I also wish I hadn't started out with a complete car, since a lot of parts were replaced that weren't even broken. Looking back I would have started out with a theft recovery, maybe something that was lightly stripped, and go from there...
What was or is your favorite vehicle to this day and why? My Mustang for sure, it's just a goofy car. I'm still just as excited about driving it today as I was when I drove it off the dealer's lot back in '94. It's a silly car. Silly baby...
What does Jeff Burbank do for enjoyment besides racing? I like to play with my cats, tattoo my body, eat, sleep, act like a goof, talk, talk LOUD, exchange verbal insults with whomever is winding me up at the time, complain...
What was your main reason was for becoming a part of the internets first > and best mustang club? Adam Dugger got me started. Where Adam goes, I follow. He is the man. Everyone should have a friend like Adam.
Shout-Outs? My girlfriend Christine, Adam Dugger, Jim McInnis, Jay Schwarzmann, Spence Hart, and Chris Giles...
Who is your biggest rival on the track, and why? I'm probably my only rival...
What upcoming events in 2002 do you plan on racing in if any? I'll hit the SSOTN Nats in April, the NMRA Nats at Maple Grove Raceway in June, possibly the NMRA @ Atco in August, and the SSOTN Nats in November...
We thank you for your time, and wish you the best in whatever you decide to do in the future. BURBANK: Sweet. Thanks a lot...
Much thanks to Jeff Burbank for being the SSOTN Featured Member for January 2002.
